  • Boots
  • Gloves
  • Warm Hat

Equipment

  • Binoculars
  • Range Finders
  • Choice of Firearms (No Bow Hunting)
  • Backpack

Is this a guided hunt?

Our whitetail deer hunts are fully guided. This allows us to make sure that you have the best opportunities for a successful hunt. This is non-negotiable.

Why do you limit the number of hunters on your ranch?

We book our number of hunters according to the number of mature bucks we have available. By doing this, we are able to increase the kill rate percentage for each hunter and maintain our stock.

What happens if I wound a deer?

The Hindes Ranch will do everything possible to recover wounded game in a reasonable matter.  Tracking Dogs are available and will be used if needed. It is also the decision and discretion of the guide to terminate the recovery of a wounded animal at any time.

If, during any hunt, the hunter's shot makes contact with the deer or blood is drawn, making this deer no longer available for future hunts, the hunter agrees to pay in full, the price according to the guide's estimated gross score of the deer. This deer will then be considered fully harvested and will require payment in full by the hunter.

Where do I sign in once I get to the ranch?

You will fill out a Release of Liability Ranch Waiver form when you arrive at the ranch gate.  All guests are required to complete.

Do you provide cleaning and refrigeration services on site?

Yes.  We have a cold storage facility on the ranch.  We will handle the cleaning of any animals harvested.  We will also cape out and quarter your harvest to  take back home with you.

What type of hunting license do I need?

For hunting whitetail deer, you will need a Resident Hunting or General Non-Resident Hunting license.  Refer to the Texas Parks & Wildlife for more details.

Children will need to also have the appropriate hunting license including hunter education courses.

Who needs to take Hunter Education?

Every hunter (including out-of-state hunters) born on or after Sept. 2, 1971, must successfully complete hunter education.

If you were born on or after September 2, 1971 and you are:

  • under 9 years of age, you must be accompanied*.
